What are some cool after market parts for my Suzuki Intruder 800?

I recently bought a 1994 suzuki intruder 800. I was wondering if anyone else owns one? What would be some cool after market parts to put on it? Also, if anyone knows of any websites that have good deals let me know as well..

  1. I own one just like yours. Mine is a black 1994 Intruder 800. The first thing you need is a service manual. Lots of little quirks about the Intruder 800 that you wouldn't know without a manual. I got a Clymer manual for mine on eBay. It was the best $25 I spent on my ride. Another good source for information or your bike is the Intruder Alert website. This forum is for Suzuki Intruder enthusiasts. I have Jardine pipes on mine. The previous owner installed them. They are a little on the loud side. I have a couple of handy part numbers for some items you can buy at your local auto supply. Wix Oil Filter part number 51359 This is far superior to the cheap made in China filter you will buy at the local Suzuki dealer but will cost you about the same. Any auto supply that sells Wix filters should be able to order it for you. The last one I bought was about $12. When you do your oil changes, don't forget to clean out the oil sump screen. Instructions are in the service manual. Without the service manual, I wouldn't have known this screen existed. NGK Iridium spark plugs part number DPR8EIX-9. $7.32 Each. Gap .035. These can be special ordered through any auto supply that sells NGK spark plugs. I found it nearly impossible to get an 18MM spark plug socket into the rear spark plug hole because the frame is in the way. I solved this problem by using a standard 18MM deep socket and cut it down just enough to cover the spark plug. A little tape inside the socket kept the spark plug inside the socket. You are pretty much stuck with using the stock air filters. It is very difficult to use high performance filters like K&N. You will see what I meen the first time you attempt to service them. According to the Intruder alert forum, it is difficult to tune the carburetors to work with these if you try and use them. I hope you enjoy your Intruder 800 as much as I enjoy mine.

  4. Jack and Scott both steered me to the Intruder Alert.com site when I asked a question here about my 1400. Cool site with loads of info and tips and very cool people!
